Pumpkin Spice Coffee Pumpkin Spice CoffeePumpkin Spice Coffee starts as 100% Brazil Cerrado Arabica beans. They're roasted to a medium-dark, Vienna-style roast and then spiked with actual spices, not artificial flavorings. We use things like orange peel, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, vanilla beans and pumpkin spice oil. The beans and the spices are ground together, so the flavors have time to merge, mingle and marry. It's like having a very low calorie slice of pumpkin pie, in a cup. That you drink. You could even put whipped cream on it, if that made you happy (though the calorie count would definitely change). It's smooth, easy-drinking and, for the third year running, the official beverage of Pumpkin Season here at Trader Joe's. Here's a little history. We introduced Trader Joe's Pumpkin Spice Coffee in 2011, and brought it back for an encore in 2012. It had been a successful Pumpkin Season product the first time around (we ran out far earlier than we'd expected), so for its second year, we secured significantly more to make sure we didn't run out as quickly. Well, apologies to all of you who never got a chance to try it in 2012. We're hoping we get it right this time, that 2013 is remembered as the year of plentiful Pumpkin Spice Coffee.
